ANTINORI WINERIES APULIA

Antinori wines from Apulia: Tormaresca

Since 1998, the Antinori family has also had a winery in Puglia, a region that is an interesting addition to the already existing sites precisely because of its positive climatic conditions, which are influenced by the sea. The Tormaresca winery actually consists of two estates: Tenuta Bocca di Lupo in the Castel del Monte DOC region and Masseria in the north of Salento. It is particularly interesting that organic viticulture is also practised in Castel del Monte. Thus, highly rated organic white wines can be found here, such as the Pietrabianca Castel del Monte DOC, which consists of Chardonnay and the autochthonous Fiano, as well as balanced red wines in organic quality such as the single-vineyard Bocca di Lupo Castel del Monte DOCThis wine is made from grapes of the ancient Aglianico grape variety and has intense tannins and a spicy-chocolate nose. The Apulian wine-growing region, however, is known beyond its borders for one grape variety in particular: the Primitivo grape. Wines from this grape, such as the Torcicoda Primitivo Salento IGT are characterised by their spicy and strong character and high alcohol content.
